I think it is ok to say no to that one (although I'd love to see it!). They have told me that the Eastern sets are not great sellers for them. I would suggest thinking about another part of the country...

Thats all I'd better say. I would be breaking a trusted relationship if I told more. Just please trust me, start a fund now & be ready to spend!!! Even those who have little interest in it will very likely find themselves wanting one, - much like the GS-4 scenario.

Funny part, is that it was run "up the flag pole" a few years back and was shot down. Now, its back. I'm so stoked!!!! I think many will be too!

Ah, patience...

Theres only two other mainline steamers I would love to have 3751 being one, and 261 being the other. With Centralia Shops doing the Super Dome, one could hope for a Skytop observation one day.
Attempting to model a modern Southern Pacific based in 2015/2016...

Also, I have a passenger train addiction...

And let's not forget North Coast Limited, Golden State, Rock Mountain Rocket, CNW 400, and the list goes on.

Let the speculation begin!  :)

My #1 pick is still the 1937 Budd Super Chief with E1s.  Not that it fits my mid 50s layout, but I would buy one anyway.  And I'll admit I would be tempted by a Texas Rocket as well.  Did enough folks respond to that poll to convince Kato to give the Rocket the go ahead.

Back to ATSF, I would think they might consider a San Francisco Chief, since they could use some of their Super Chief and El Cap (for later versions of the SF Chief), and it might give us more ATSF sleepers, and a Big Dome.

I gave up rivet counting when I couldn't see an N scale rivet anymore.
