That shanty would be a great place to watch trains.

After months of little time for modelling work, I managed to get my WNY&P M-636 ready for its Cartier paint job. Should be able to finish the painting in the next few days. just a couple of small defects to sort first.

That's the shanty at Galesburg east of the depot.   
A derailment brought the signal bridge down and scared the hell out of the operator and scattered his Playboy magazines over half of the town!!!

I'm at the Great Basin Getaway in SLC with a great group of guys from all over the country; got to run on three layouts so far and visit a couple of others. Today I had a chance to play the San Bernardino Fifth Street Tower operator at Ted York's fabulous Cajon layout

Richie, btw, that signal bridge had a shanty on top of it until 1941 when the tower was built. Apparently they thought the view wasn't all that good account the steam exhaust blasting up the operators' rear ends. The little yellow crapper at the end of the signal bridge, however, remained in place and use until the tower itself was demolished. Fun stuff!

looks like a fun time Otto, that is one layout that is on my list to operate!!! getting ready for a session on my layout today, I have several newbies that have never operated before , so I brought in a couple extra regulars to run two man crews. So them a good time and make them in to regular operators!!!! Gordon

I finally finished this Briggs 8-40CM unit.  It is probably the most complicated kitbash I have done yet, but I am pleased with how it turned out.  The great paint job was by craigolio.  It runs pretty smoothly now that I oiled the gears    Murky cell photos...

The Dash-8 looks great! I am glad to see someone finally finished one. Glad to hear that it is running smooth with a little oil on the gears. Mine has been sitting at 50% complete for the past year as I was having the same issue with the gears. Now that I know the solution I better get a move on with it.

It sat on my bench for nearly a year too after decaling but I am sure glad I was able to finish it.  Thanks for your efforts to get this kit available!

Now I need to weather it- they sure don't look so pretty and clean in 2016
