I have to admit, the flare at the top of the stack looks just a tad big, but, otherwise it looks great.

Yes, it is too big and a completely different stack compared to the m2 4-8-0 you standing in front of. It's pretty close for the regular m class if you look on page 1 of this thread.

Where did you get those trucks for the tender?

I have had a close encounter with one of these beasties.

Oh, I think the stack is pretty cool, it's one of the signature elements on this engine.
My question is more about the stack and cylinders not lining up. I assume Adam, that you plan to move the cylinders and pilot truck to line up with the stack?
Cool little engine!

Yes otto. The boiler is slid too far back in this picture. I want paying attention when I took it. I'll get a better picture up later.

The tender trucks are from a class j auxiliary water tender.

Looking at the drawing, I am seeing some problems now.
The thing that worries me is that the cab is supposed to move forward, but the rest of the boiler should not.

Assuming you haven't glued the cab to the boiler yet, the cab needs to move forward.
The front edge of the cab is supposed to be just forward of the driver #4 axle.   That's obviously not hard to fix.

The reason I say the rest of the boiler should not move forward is that the back edge of the boiler tapered section
is supposed to be right where you have it, over the center of driver #2.
But that tapered section is supposed to extend all the way to the center of driver #1.    It looks to me like the tapered section is a little too short.   On the drawing, it looks like it's about the same length as the two sections in front of it.  If it were the correct length, the stack would end up over the cylinders.

Max, the cab is just set on there to get the overall look with the boile . I still have to completely redo the cab windows before it's permanently affixed to the boiler.

The boiler needs to slide forward as its not sitting correctly on the chassis. Also camera angle is playing tricks here I belive with the boiler transition. I'll look at it again tonight

If you look at my Youtube videos of my 2-6-0, I thought I had it 'dead on' until I took photos of it in the same semi-finished state....hmmm....  something didn't look quite right.

But I measured everything!  I had drawings!!!  It has to be right!

Ended up lowering the cab 6".  To this day I don't know what I did wrong.   Hardest part was admitting that I just had to do the cab over.
