Got a eMail from Chuck the other day which almost made me chuck up dinner . These were pre ordered but what were the chances of getting these wallet vacuuming things on a single shipment ?

Wow!!!  Is that a resin casting?  Any plans to sell some???  There were a lot of roads who had this type of baggage - mail.

It's laser cut paper sides (in 4 layers) and 3d printed floor, ends, and roof. The roof is the only part I did the design work for. The ribs are styrene glued on top. I think I'll add them into the 3d model and make them thinner. I'm not really happy with this project at the moment, it need some more development. Once I have something that I'm happy with a resin kit is definitely a possibility.

Who else had similar cars?

My preorder nightmares kick in with 1/5th that total. One reason I hate preorder in a deliver when it gets out of China world.

The Puddington Memorial consist rolled into my territory and now I'm trying to get at least a few square inches of my layout scenicked decently. Beware, those of you on the list for this train: get that work done now, the memorial train will be upon you far too quickly!

With a PRR car for stand-in, the west junction at North Middling, MA



First Avenue: hopefully the drugstore wall will be vertical by the time Mike's train  rolls through (and the crossing gate)



And the former junction at the east end of town, across the river, needs Johnny Appleseed, quick

Have the main structure of my new trestle for the industrial complex's Santa Clara river crossing finished. (The original river bed was way to deep) Going from 8-1/2" to 3". Next up are the mainline bridges.

Here is the new trestle - ready for paint: (It is 2 feet long by just shy of 3" tall)

I don't mind pre-orders but I do feel that a company should feel a greater obligation to be on time with deliveries. I understand there are delays and issues but that is where communicating with your customers is key. When I receive a pre-ordered item 18-24 months after the original expected delivery date with little to no communication it is frustrating. A current example, F7's from Intermountain.  Was supposed to be Feb of 2016 (August 2015 may have been the original date), pushed back to April....of 2017.  Now I know from here it is due to sound decoder issues but absolutely no official communication from IM.  Unless I missed it, it is not on their upcoming product page.  It is a hobby and Chinese production causes all kinds of frustration, but keeping your customers informed is always better than not.

Update shot on the "West Hickory" T-trak module.   I took it outside for this shot so the color balance is a little more accurate.



The test of the church image is temporary - this is a heavily photoshopped picture of the West Hickory UMC that's been there at least since the early 1900's and I'm doing 1925.   But as a backdrop image I'm good with it.   Backdrop photos were reprinted and done on a color laser.

I'm not sure how much I'll get done before the Altoona show, I need to add a lot of structures that would take time, but I will take it there as it's ready to run.    Ballasting and basic stuff is done, the 'herbage' is all Woodland Scenics foam and fine-leaf foliage.
