Well, the Rio Grande Southern First District in in Colorado Springs!

I'm having surgery on my foot tomorrow so I'll be less mobile for sure, but I'm sure I'll be spending much of my convalescence in the basement!  That is to say you are invited for some run time on the RGS.  PM me.

As for your rumored hobby shop, I've not ever heard of such a thing.   :?

You'll find scads of old N scale stuff at Roy's Model Trains on Pikes Peak Ave in downtown Colorado Springs though!

N Scale Supply (address on the internet site) is open 10-4 on Fridays and 10-2 on Saturdays. Lots of used stuff and new as well.I’ve had good luck there as well as Roy’s in the Springs as mentioned above.

Yeah, the current Caboose Hobbies has nothing but empty shelves.  They don't even carry parts or scratchbuilding supplies anymore.  It would be sad even without memories of the old store.

Well, I try to spend as much as I can when I visit iconic places like Caboose. I remember the old store, and places like Allied Model Trains in LA, which went under for  various reasons, but are nonetheless gone...

Seriously, I'm not lying about the empty shelves.  If you want to spend a bunch of money you're gonna have to work hard to find stuff to spend it on there.  The magic of the Broadway location is gone.   :oops:

Dave is right- was in Caboose a couple of weeks ago and not much anywhere except locomotives for n scale.

YESSS! That’s it! I’m not crazy, lol....open to the public just a few hours a week on Fridays and Saturday only. My grandkids live in Arvada, will make sure to check it out.

The Forney Transportation Museum. They have big Boy 4005 and some others.   Was there last year on a two bike ride, 5000 miles.   Went up Pike Peak too which was one of the highlights of the ride.

Yes, I’ve been to Forney, took my grandson, he loved ringing the big bell there.
You went up Pike’s Peak on a bike?🙀 we’re talking motorcycles, right?
