IIRC Tim sent an email asking for the (uncompressed) shot we thought most representative of the train's visit to our pike along with caption material for said picture...

Aye, but I did not realize any articles had already been done.

I didn't get any email. Last I saw was he would reach out to us. I guess I didn't make the list. And that's ok.  I just hoped I didn't miss an opportunity because I didn't email pictures.

. . .  and where did you find that info?

Tim's post states: I can now confirm that the first instalment will appear in the January-February 2017 with a brief article describing the train.  Subsequent instalments will cover various parts of the tour, so I will be in contact with you via email to obtain your choice of photograph at full resolution and your caption.

Nice video, Peteski. How did you do the sound track?

Thanks Lennart.
After about an hour's-worth of searching online for railroad sounds I found some useful stuff for free. Then I did a lot of creative splicing to make the soundtrack. It is not perfect, but this is the first I tried something  like that.   I could have probably made it even better, but I already spend way too much time on editing that video.  It is amazing how quickly hours go by when you splicing sounds trying to make them sound good and at least somewhat in-sync with the video.  At least I can say that it was a learning experience (I don't create videos too often)

I can understand it took some time to get it all together. Other people make a living out of sound editing, you know  :)  But it was worthwhile effort I think.

PS I noticed how you silently managed to move this to the "correct" thread, Peteski-wise   :D

Thank you!
Yes, I answered in the Admin thread - I can't help myself.  :D

Here is a screen shot of the video editor. The bottom 2 lines are the sounds.

I have the consist in my possession. I'm going to try to get the bulk of photography and video recorded this weekend, and shoot follow-ups and revisions over the week as well as some time with Scott to shoot the Mount Pocono photos.

Tim Horton -- could you give us a heads-up when the memorial train visit to our own layouts will appear in N scale mag? I live about 60 miles RT from a LHS so I have no way of keeping tabs on what's published.

Hi Al:

The third installment covering Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Michigan and Tennessee will appear in the next issue of NSM - my deadline for submission was tonight.

The fourth and fifth installments will cover the northeastern states and I will be emailing the participants shortly, after proofing the current installment.

Shot initial phtotgraphy tonight and recorded the motive power audio for the video. It will be easier to dub it in after the video is edited rather than including it with the raw video at the outset. Hoping to shoot video tomorrow night.

Good Afternoon:

I am sending out two group emails today:  one to participants in the Northeast states requesting photographs and captions for the next magazine articles, and one to participants in Canada advising them of their upcoming opportunities to host.

I finished the video of the memorial train visiting the B&NL a weekend earlier than expected, so it has been added to the photos thread.
