Since there are a few videos of the memorial train's travels, maybe they could be collected on a DVD and presented to Mike's family along with the book and train.

3 March 2017

The McGrattan Memorial Train returned home to Canada this afternoon after its tour of the United States, which included 26 layouts in 14 states:

It is now time to swap the USPS carton for a Canada Post one, and commence the Canadian portion of the tour.

To all of our American participants who have hosted the train, thank you for honouring Mike in this way, thank you for your care and custody of the train, and thank you for all the wonderful comments you have written in the Book of Condolence.  This forum is truly a special place.

The M3T has arrived. Local crews will raise a glass in Mike's honour:

Much more to come in the photo thread over the next few days as the train commences the second Canadian portion of its journey.

For anyone who will be in southern Ontario this weekend, and who was looking for an excuse to go to the Kitchener/Cambridge/Waterloo/Guelph "Doubleheader's Layout Tour", the M3T will be on display with the N-Trak Roadshow layout in the main registration hall for the tour on Saturday. Hope to see you there!

The resgistration hall is located in Hespeler Arena: 640 Ellis Road West, Cambridge Ont. Canada

The Mike McGrattan Memorial Train has arrived on the East coast of Canada! Saint John, New Brunswick to be exact. Later this weekend the train will take a tour of the Saint John Society of Model Railroaders, N-Division, modular layout. Pictures will be posted for your viewing pleasure as soon as possible.

It is truly humbling to read the many posts in the memorial book and be part of this truly unique memorial.

Thanks for letting me be part of it.

Dear Friends:

This post is to report that the McGrattan Memorial Train has returned safely to Vancouver after its tour across Canada.  Next up is a short series of visits to layouts here in Vancouver, after which it will await its journey to its final destination.

Thank you all for your participation, and helping to keep the train on schedule.

I'm debating how I want to treat the car myself.

As per my previous post, the train is now back in Vancouver where its journey began, for visits to three final layouts including Greg Kennelly, Gary Hinshaw and Mark Dance.
