The St. Louis RPM meet last year had a handful of N, and a little bit of O as well: https://flic.kr/s/aHskhi7BVi. I can't vouch for Naperville, but given the proximity to StL (and the participation of Fox Valley Models in both), I suspect the showing is similar.

Those were the two I instantly thought of as having more N scale then most and I also figured the Mini-Modutrak guys when to them as well. I don't know if any of our TRW folks go to the Mid-Atlantic one, http://www.marpm.org/ in Fredericksburg, Va.,

Yes, come to the Chicagoland RPM! (Naperville)  if you've been thinking about coming to see the Modutrak layout and hang out with a great group on N scalers, this is the best event to see us. We run till the wee hours of the morning, often with beer and pizza. Besides that, the clinic slate is always great. It will be October 20-22 this year. And, the shake-n-take kit we are working on will be available in N scale this year thanks to Fox Valley!

There isn't really a national N scale event that covers the RPM side, so we want to wrap N scale more significantly into the Chicago event.

I hope to go live with registration in a week or two. Keep an eye on www.rpmconference.com!

Great work, as always. Prayers for you mate, Keep fighting the fight. I work with our Live Strong program at our Y. Good attitude, work out if you can. And keep posting the super progress. Giving me lots of ideas.
Stay strong ..

Finally; this building, a very special tribute to two special people.... here's the story....

One Christmas night a long, long time ago three guys, comfortably stuffed with turkey and the trimmings stole away into the darkness and landed at a local pub which was, inexplicably open on that winter's night. A pint of friendship and a shot of cheer made that a night never to be forgotten by this modeller.... One of those fellows is gone, but most certainly never forgotten and the other has been a steadfast and god-sent supporter through my last year and a half of struggles... To GO-GO I offer my humble thanks and to Simon I tip a "modelling pint" to your memory..... Our lives snapshot... in 1:160 scale.... now let's hear some gritty blues if you will......

I'm struggling right now with affects of the kidney issues and cancer; I'm learning that my life is all about balancing goals and desires with ability and pain management.... I only say this to illustrate that so powerful a draw is our hobby that even when you're down and out you can still rise up and get some joy out of life by modelling, running a train or just hanging out with some savvy modellers like we have here..... ;)

That's awesome to hear. I really want to get to one of those RPM meetings someday.

And I agree about Tony. I think he's a good guy (and not only because I grew up reading Trains of Thought), and I don't understand why people would have a negative opinion of him.

I did the one in Fredericksburg last September and was impressed. There were N scale door prizes, even, but the vast majority of vendors were offering 95% HO. Clinics were multi scale with weathering, soldering, planning, and proto reference themed presentations. No one presented an N scale layout overview, though several HO layouts were shared and discussed.  I think to a large degree what's offered depends on who offers to present.  Lots of layout engineering threads on here could easily become an RPM clinic if people chose to get involved.

I'll be at the mid Atlantic RPM again in September 2016. It's 10 miles from home. Whether my layout appears in any form is another story altogether.

Digital Reversing Motors?...

DRM is Digital Rights Management.

Hmm... I still don't know
what DRM means...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

I recently found out what DRM was. I bought an e-book from Morning Sun that was only available that way, my first ever e-book. Once I paid they didn't send me a "book" they sent me a link to download it that only worked with one certain program even though it was just a PDF file. It took me about an hour to figure out how to strip the DRM so that my adobe reader could open it, now it is just a regular PDF. Sort of  :RUEffinKiddingMe: me off because I had to install a program on my computer just to download it, then another program to strip it. Then I had to uninstall 2 programs and enjoy my "book". The original program needed to download and view the book was very slow. Once it was stripped and a plain PDF I could zip right through the pages. I guess this is progress  :|

My weekend was a pretty odd mix.
Friday my friend Konrad's layout was filmed by our own @Bfagan which was produced some outstanding results!
Saturday was spent setting up my girlfriend's new refrigerator and reorganizing my display case at the antique store co-op that I'm a part of.
Sunday was the second ever Ops session on Konrad's layout, which went excellently. I think by the time the third session rolls around, Kon and I will have gotten things pretty well sorted out and moving along smoothly.
Monday was far more solemn as one of my girlfriend's two cats, Peaches, passed away during the night. He hadn't been himself and we were planning on taking him to the vets, but sadly it wasn't meant to be. So the day was spent trying to distract her from the unfortunate event.

My friend Ken filmed the various trains during the ops session:
