Shapeways Search Function?

Now I can't seem to get the search function to work at all there. I get all kinds of random stuff showing up. Is it just me?

Had that problem a few times last week, but the majority of returns were still on topic.

Their search function has always sucked.

Try a google search for what you want. That often works better as the Shapeways pages come up in the listing.

Shapeways seems to be busy with this. The search feature was sucky at best, but it got worse. They know this so I guess they're working on it

Seriously, what's the deal? Still can't search for anything. All the same stuff keeps coming up no matter what I type in, including that Donald Trump #### plug. Is anyone else not having problems searching there?

Hmm. I just tried it and had no problem with single-word searches. I think where everybody has trouble is multi-word searches are OR'ed rather than AND'ed. I agree it's annoying.

I used to type "N Scale" and it worked fine. Not sure how to search for N scale stuff if those particular search terms won't work any longer or you can't type more than one word.

I think using Boolean operators is the key. I just tried "N and scale and locomotive" (without the quotes) and voila!, N scale locomotives and locomotive-related parts. "N and scale" worked OK, but picked-up a few non-MRR parts.

Try it. You might have better luck.

If you're using Chrome, you may be able to type in shapeways.com, hit the tab button, and then type in what you're looking for. You may have to clear your browser cache first.
