Love it Lenny ! How do you like the Rapido loco ?

It's exquisitely detailed, need to check / re-gauge at the wheelsets as it did give me some problems.

Give the boys a call; they'll send you new wheel sets...

Puddington Valley Domtar Packaging Containerboard mill buildings are more or less complete .... Have a look in the Layout Engineering Report section if you're interested.

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Started working on the river bed this weekend.  I'm using scenic express coarse and medium natural dirt for texture and artist acrylics to add depth.  Once the entire river bed is complete I plan on using magic water tinted with Tamiya olive drab.  This is my first attempt so any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks for looking!

Once the entire river bed is complete I plan on using magic water tinted with Tamiya olive drab.

Haven't used Tamiya but used plenty o' Magic Water.
MW takes solvent-based paints, so I usually mixed drops of Floquil BNSF Green with a few drops of Grimy Black (it really doesn't take too much to tint).

Magic Water is amazing in it's ability to creep, soak, drip through any pore, so I've found doing a small first initial darker-tinted pour is worth it to both get a feel of the ooze/color & to allow it to seep in & seal any holes.
Just drip it along the center bed & then use a disposable brush to push into crevices.
Especially as you already have rock/dirt material secured, this way the next day you'll see how it far it goes.
The good news is that it doesn't go much farther than the first pour :)

Just advocating for the slim-pour / fat-pour method.
Need a dam good dam, too.
Food for thought.

Amazing work, as always!

Your first attempt? First? FIRST?! Aw crimey. I give up.

I wonder if it's too late, in life, to take up the tuba.

David,  as always, superb.  The deep pool just past the bridge is the only thing that immediately grabs me as not quite natural.  A scour pool like that would tend to have a steeper cut bank corresponding to it.  Otherwise, the bars and riffles look very good and should look natural with the next depth of water added.

Really great work on that scenery David. When ready to use your Magic Water follow the directions where it says to paint a line of mixed M/Water at the top of your waterline first. This stops the next lot of water from going past that line and not creep into your scenery.
