The other videos were the single-chime Banshee, Bryan's video is of the proper PRR three-chime. (Which is a must-have on the sound-decoder of a K4.)

Technically, it isn't the correct whistle, but it's close.

Damn, but it's easy to forget how loud steam engines were.

Too bad the tracks limited speed so the doppler effect isn't audible.

Per my discussion with Soundtraxx today, the Dynamo sound is not available on a "sound-value" locomotive like this. That's a real bummer for me since that sound is so noticeable on a steam locomotive. I took the tender apart and there is room for a TSU-750. This could get interesting.

Funny that we can get a commercially produced Doppler effect in N scale, but it comes with one of the slowest lumbering beasts of a locomotive available to us...

I have the Walthers 2-8-8-2 with sound. The problem with the simulated doppler is that the loco doesn't know where you are. So the effect just happens randomly it seems.

If you go up a couple scales, MTH HO, (O too) have a Doppler effect function also.
Here's a video from the MTH ACe I had a while ago. (warning table was just a temporary solution for living situation at the time.)

While we have not yet received our K4s here on the west coast, we are encouraged knowing that ours may be making the trip west in a UPS trailer having rounded Horsehoe Curve and other monuments of the PRR.
