Sargento Scheme

Hey all.  I am painting a Wisconsin Southern Double Plug door box in the Sargento scheme with blacked out logo.  I get the yellow and black, but is the rest of the body Silver? Some pics look like a metallic grey.  I think Fox Valley did a special run a few years ago and those look medium grey.

they were painted in the WSOR shop ... i bet someone there would know for sure ..  looks like weathered steel to me

nope...it was the original WS car...blue I think with the logo on it.   Yea, that would have made this a lot easier...

Also might want to check with Atlas and Athearn as to what they have for info on the colors. They both have released this car, Atlas in O and Athearn in HO.

Judging from previous Evans schemes microtrains has done it'll be on their 50' double plug boxcar... The one with the different sized doors...

I think I remember mixing polly scale undercoat light grey and polly scale engine black.  At the time, there was only one photo of the car and it didn't look anything else besides a glossy grey.

I would say that in n scale grey would look correct...

I think the prototype was painted silver but weathered silver looks grey and on a n scale model silver doesn't look right...

Colour is pretty subjective tho...

I had tried to talk Matt into doing some of the 48'(?)refrigerated trailers that were also done up with this scheme and are still out on the roads, saw one last year.
