Don't need paint.  Shrink wrap.  That stuff is on lots of subway and transit cars nowadays.

I know.  Despite the name, it is a large vinyl sticker.  Still, it is easier to just spray a paint patch over graffiti than peel the old sticker and apply a new one.  Plus paint is *MUCH* cheaper.

Isn't the Atlas Evans car a more proto-correct car than the Microtrains version, which I don't believe is 52' ??? Pretty sure it is a 50' car, which is why I was able to use some of Brian B's x58 underframes to get the body mounted cushioned couplers. And the ride height is easier to fine tune on the Atlas

As I understand Joe (who asked the initial question) works at Micro Trains.  That is probably why he won't use an Atlas car as a car which would get produced and sold by Micro Trains.

I saw the car twice this last weekend, once as part of an empty sand train in East St. Louis and again yesterday approaching Rochelle, IL eastbound. It often shows up at the Granville, WI interchange with WSOR.

Yes, the Atlas model is correct for the prototype, which is why Fox Valley used the Atlas model when they released their version.

so, the sargento box car started out life as a regular boxcar red ..  it's unlikely they would have stripped it to bare metal . I vote for a gray

There is no way that it is silver.

That is clearly light gray.
