You keep saying "implying injection-molded polystyrene" but I'm curious why is that implied? (serious question) I do understand the differences between resin and polystyrene, but when *I* read the subject line, my thought was "not laser-cut wood" And my second thought would exclude cardboard/paper and plaster, but I wouldn't have excluded resin unless it was explicitly stated/clarified in the original post.IMHO, resin might be subcategorized differently under the larger category plastic, but certainly not a tangent, and certainly not a tangent worth stopping down the thread for. And, as we are seeing, some folks don't even realize what manufacturers use what materials. Not all resin kits have Alamo walls.
Where do I begin? By now Kiz has confirmed that what I was implying was correct: he was looking for injection-molder polystyrene kits. Also, like Nick and I stated, modelers use the word plastic specifically for polystyrene and then comes everything else: resin, laser-cut, etc. Generally (as Kiz eluded to) polystyrene kits usually have better fit much and are easier to assemble than resin kits. That is why I can clearly see them being in a different category than the other "plastic": polystyrene kits.EDIT: I revisited the initial post and Kiz capitalized the word PLASTIC while also providing a list of companies which make injection-molded polystyrene kits (not resin). That is why I knew what Kiz was looking for.
...but since I was called out - I can read minds and I read Kiz's mind.
Hmm... wasn't the staticoverwhelming...?
