Unless they do a post-2005 rebuild version of UP 844, I most likely wont buy another. The one GS-4 version I wish they had done was when she was in high gloss black with pinstrips and BNSF logos on her. Definitely would put that train together.
Looks like a rather easy custom paint job to me. What is holding you back?
Kato won't harm my wallet, unless they do this 4-8-4, which I realize just ain't gonna happen:DFF
you guys think they will do the grayhound scheme? I may have to sell something
Definitely thought about picking up a war baby to do it to, but almost bit the bullet on the AFT first when Lowell Smith started doing the whole thing, then the rumors of 844 started to procure and turned my projects to that. Honestly, I don't want 3-4 versions of 4449. I'm happy with just the one to run my Daylight set, though I still have the AFT in the back of my mind of maybe one day.Chris

What's your source on that? The Joe Stalin version seems to be the most popular and it's what I remember from before internet days.Jason

Fourteen were built to the track gauge of 5 ft (1,524 mm) and the final six were built to 4 ft 8 1⁄2 in (1,435 mm) standard gauge.[snip]The Milwaukee's operating employees referred to the units as Little Joe Stalin's locomotives which was eventually shortened to simply Little Joe....the controls were initially labelled in Russian....
