Pete's review that he posted the link to says .520" with a flange of 0.026".

Jason

Thanks Jason for the link, and thank you very much Peteski for a very thorough review and dimensions.
So if I read it correctly, the Hiawatha driver outside diameter, including flanges is .572".
Please correct me if this is wrong.
To utilize three of these drivers, tight with NO space inbetween would require 1.1144" outer axle o.c. spacing.
The ConCor Hudson mic's at 1.1, .0144 too tight. There are four flanges in the way, but if one were to cut them down by say .004" to .022, the three drivers should theoretically fit on the CC axles....
Hmm, what is the FVM axle diameter?....is that even doable?
Thoughts?
Thanks, Otto K.

Ooops, for some reason I kept skipping by this link.  Thanks Pete!!

Funny how that happens. You're welcome Jason.

I suppose that I should posted the axle and bearing diameter back in the original thread (for scratch-builders).  I have another 4-4-2 which I will be eventually tuning up. I can take measurements then. But that won't be for quite a while.

Some of the photos in the original review show the axle and the bearings. The axle is rather thin. Probably 1.5mm diameter.

Very nice!  Yes, I can also personally confirm that Matt is a very helpful guy when it comes to providing parts for special projects.

Nice, I was worried he wouldn't have any parts from the steamers. I am very interested in making a B&M R1, which would require the lead, trailing and forward tender trucks.

Start your R1 build thread and I will send you the parts courtesy FOX VALLEY MODELS!

Not much to write about, just a Bachamann Northern with new trucks and a different tender. I probably won't even detail it much as I don't even know what the parts are, never mind where to find them IN N scale.

1st N scale Blue Goose casting.  Still there is much to clean up and modify and then recast.  This boiler casting will be used to test fit and do the hard work of build/ modifying a mechanism.

Great looking casting Jason. With its profile, bet it was touchy to hollow out. Keep us posted.

Hey thanks GUYS!

Well for now.  Here is the Blue Goose boiler installed on a Kato GS4 based =Hudson (driver reduced GS4). Yes the driver are off by 4inches each but I do not think its as notable on the fully streamlined version.  You can see that I has to get the cast ULTRA thin in several areas to fit the cylinders.
I still plan on building a mechanism with the FVM drivers.  Not an easy undertaking, perhaps a solution will present itself.......
