ACF 70 ton two bay hopper

Forgive the middle age memory lapse; who makes an N scale ACF 70 ton, two bay covered hopper model ? I know I've seen them out there (I think I even might have the "GE Lamp" version somewhere) but for the life of me I can't remember who makes these. There were "gazillions" of them, painted black; often with the ACF leasing road marks and private lease names in white....

Any help to a middle aged mindless modeller most appreciated............. 

Now, where did I leave my glasses........ ?

Yes !!!!!!!!!!! Deluxe made the GE Lamp version and Kato did the two packs............. Thanks Cory !

The Deluxe versions are rough, but I think have been upgraded slightly over the years(?).

The Kato version as really nice and with a little drilling and filing, can be made into an open side.

Here's the Kato car opened up in the 'still waiting for decals to be printed even though I did the artwork 6 years ago' phase. 



I did have to add the vibrator castings.

The car's been done a few times by different manufacturers, we could probably put something together.

Microscale has a sheet of private lease names for the ACF 70 ton hoppers (MS 60-661) I have and want to use for a couple of Westvaco cars (perfect for delivering chemicals to my papermill)

I will have to fins a few of the Kato or Deluxe cars - perfect reason to go to a couple of local shows and search the vendor tables................

There was also a switch-back that dipped down and back under the trestle. Somewhere I have a photo with an Erie S12 backing under the trestle.

Go with the Kato car and modify the sides if necessary.  It's easy enough to body-mount couplers, and all the undec parts are available through their website if cars can't be had on the secondary markets.

So how much is one of the Kato cars worth on the used market?  Bit old for my era, so I have no use for one I got in a lot a few years ago.

The MS New Haven decal sheet has covered hopper decals -- they're for the PS version but it was close enough to the ACF for me to use on the opened-up Katos. The problem with those guys is the Kato trucks/couplers don't play well with others.
