Great work again this week. Great looking loco this week both the CP SD40-2F and the CN Expo. Love the trucks Huskern.

More work on the club layout for me this week. Almost all the cork was installed today, 450' in 4 hours only 75 more to go. Also started a new blog for the club. http://panthersubdivision.blogspot.ca/ Have a look.

HuskerN -
I think the only thing that will make your rigs pop like they should is to apply some sort of dark wash to the grilles to give the illusion of a radiator behind them.  Very nice work...I wish you modeled the 60's.

howd you get the grey/brown lines on the ICH hopper?  I have been trying to wrap my head around that one for awhile...

I just used Modelflex weathered black and pulled a bunch of lines straight down with the smallest brush I had on hand.  If it didn't look right, just wiped it off with a Q-Tip and alcohol.  Still, I learned that I can certainly do better on the next one.  The lines should have been more vertical.  The decal covers up the lines without any problem, so no need to be perfect with how far you pull it down.

Cheers,
Brian

Hmm, never heard of chrome tape before, but wow love how it looks.

Quick check on Amazon and a 1" wide by 50' roll is only $10.    :o  Thanks for the tip!

Cheers,
Brian

I'm digging the streets, Miles. Let's hear about your method.

Here's the other ICH car I was working on, this time on an Intermountain hopper that was already patched for CSX.

Was the original car a 4650cf 3-Bay hopper?  The reason I ask is because the young lady is supposed to be next to patch and not cover the road numbers.  Due to the length of the decal, she had to go in her current spot on the car.

Cheers,
Brian

Don't usually do long overhead shots but this meet at Caliente crossovers was too good to pass up - the old and the new, warbonnets and swoosh, 60s and ACes...

Spot on , and for that matter , patch on , crack on . You could do a write-up on that and become famous and have groupies and stuff .

Doing some sky testing.

Easier to judge behind something.

Sideways sky.

Hit the Greenberg show in town this weekend. Nicely attended while I was there. Decent number of N vendors. A couple bargains found. Lucked into six of the Exact Rail ARMN reefers. Was sleeping at the buy button when the run came out. Hoping for another one soon, as these are hard to find.

Interesting....
The original is a 3-bay hopper. Looks like the decal is a bit too large. I used the images DKS provided - I didn't verify their size against a model of a 3-bay hopper.   :x  The other ICH decal seemed to be spot on.  Oh well...If I ever print another batch, I'll have to re-size this artwork.

Those are awesome hoppers.  What is the significance of Ichabod?  Taggers handle?  Old movie where a guy throws his pumpkin head around?
