He married the right girl!   :D
But seriously, marriage or not, Paul has been doing some really good things at Atlas. Congratulation on the promotion!  I hope that he still continues to mingle with the model railroaders on the online forums.

Yes, Congrats Paul!

I really think Atlas is pushing the modeling envelope for the better - the sound-equipped S-2 is something I thought I'd never see from a mainstream manufacturer (not the S-2 itself, which I figured eventually would get produced by someone, but a sound-equipped switcher in N scale).  I hope it's successful, because there's no reason N scale can't offer a sound-equipped option (note: option; have a DCC-ready, but no decoder version, and a full-on sound-equipped version) for its diesels and steam locos, just like HO scale does.  And their selection of ESU LokSound to provide the decoder shows that they care both about the quality of the motor control (ESU's is terrific) and the sound (ditto).  They could have done this "on the cheap" and the fact that they did not is something that I both admire and bodes well for future Atlas offerings.

Keep the great stuff in N scale coming (particularly those Nickel Plate Road paint schemes!).

That's great news! Congratulations, Paul.

Hmm... I hope Paul can
pull some strings and get
Atlas to make an N scale
banana plantation...

The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Attaboy, Paul! It's nice to have a gung-ho model railroad enthusiast at the helm. I see great things for Atlas in the future.

I thought Atlas big wig side was a nepotistic placement org . Did Paul marry into that mix ? I used to think that it would be cool if Paul took over Atlas , but my thoughts of the Atlas structure had me feeling it was impossible . So instead of Paul going to shows he will be going to the Far East via first class in a westward direction ? Too bad the SST isn't an option anymore . Good on ya Paul , when I grow up I want to be just ........damn too late , that train has left the station decades ago .

Congratulations, Paul. And to Atlas, too.

Successful hobby companies are run by managers who are also serious enthusiasts, so it's really great to see "one of us" in charge. Now go hit some home runs! :D

Josh Surkosky

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."
