You mentioned the auction - what can you tell us about its format, rules, number of items per person, etc.  I'm thinking about bringing some stuff so I don't have the eBay it.

Really no formate just an open auction, # of items within reason. Come and have FUN!

To expand on what Mike said:

The auction is held Saturday evening right after the dinner and is used to raise funds for a charity that is
determined by the group each year.
Some items are donated exclusively for the charity and others donate a part of the proceeds to the charity.

Items being auctioned are set-up and displayed at the dinner so one can review and examine them.

There is no limit to how many items one can enter for auction.
An entry form is completed for each item entered.
   1. Seller Name
        2. Description of item
      3. Value
   4. Reserve price if any
   5. Quantity
   6. Charity donation

It is generally accepted that the item have some connection to
trains or model railroading.

Payment is by cash only.     

After the auction is complete, buyers pay for and collect thier items.

Then sellers get paid for the items they sold. 

Amount raised for the charity announced to the group.

And no huricanes.  Thats a first! Next year is our 10th Anniversary and were looking for ideas to do something different?
