Ultra-rare PRR brass on eBay - NJ Custom T-1

I had noted this new listing over in the "you ought to see this nonsense on eBay" thread because it was so novel - an eBay item of potential (very) high value that's been started low (bidding was at $30 when I caught it), honestly listed, with ample proof of defects in the photos and the narrative. But Peteski suggested since it was "hidden away" in an aging entertainment thread, the SPFs who might be interested in it could potentially miss it:

According to Mark (Spookshow), these were of quite limited production and are beyond rare.

Too bad the old (and open) ebay is gone. I would love to learn more about the high bidder s***t , who has over 121 thousand of feedbacks!  I used to enjoy researching the competing bidders. But the super-secretive ebay no longer allows any way to look them up.

You can't look them up, but you can have a peek at what they've been doing lately...

Already did that - very eclectic bid history.

Don’t you just love it when you see the opportunists get caught with their purchases and no one touches their listings ….. they just sit there like a stale bottle of …..  I will even push them a bit to see how keen they are, been caught a couple of times though playing that game.

I have one of these in the standard version. This looks like the buick version. There were only 50 of these made from what one of sources told me. and a hundred fifty of the standard ones. They run like crap but are very nice looking. Sold for $400 when they came out. I am watching this one.

How much would someone pay for one of these if it was custom painted and DCC with sound installed? Wondering if it would be worth bidding for. I'm not a Pennsy fan but just an opportunist.  :D

I'd say BIG money. There have been some other large PRR steamers up on eBay that had DCC/Sound (and high-end at that) and they fetched some good coin.
A T-1 with high-end DCC/Sound would be the bread-winner of the T-1s.

I'e got a I1 with DCC and sound and I've always wondered what I coud get for it.  And, don't ask, it's not for sale.

I think you'd have to surrender your SPF card if you wanted to sell such a gem.

Oxidization from lack of a sealer coat on the brass. Sometimes the manufacturer seals the "bare" brass with a laquer that the modeller has to strip prior to painting (this is really old school) alot of brass now comes "bare".
