When a loved one is called home, there is nothing we can do but cherish the memories and reflect on a life well lived. My condolences, Bryan.

My condolences and prayers for you and your family, Bryan. It is always a shock to find a loved one unresponsive, but it does diminish over time, and the remembrances tend toward the best ones.

My extended family lost Nana Rose this weekend, but she was 104, still doing her own grocery shopping, tilling and tending her own veggie garden, and preparing lunch every workday for her son Steve, who at 75 still works full-time at the boatyard, scraping and painting yachts, which he has done for 61 years. I can only smile.

12 years ago this week I lost my father - I can only extend to you my deepest sympathies Bryan - lock away the good memories in your heart and revist them daily.................... I do.
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Sorry to hear of your loss these are the hardest things to go through the loss of a loved one. I wish you the best in your healing and keep the memories alive. I've lost a few loved ones over the last decade and the memories really help.

Bryan, Sorry to hear of your fathers passing. I was in the hospital room with my dad when his time came six years ago. It isn't easy to readjust. Nate Goodman (Nato).

Sorry for your loss.  As others have said enjoy the good memories and be strong.  Being strong also means asking for help should you need it.  Nothing wrong with getting that help when it's appropriate.

Best wishes

Joe

My condolences Bryan.  I hope that immersing yourself in your hobbies, when the time allows, will lessen the pain of your loss. The Railwire crew will be here to try to cheer you up.

My most sincere condolences at this time of sorrow and responsibility Bryan.  Being the executor of your father's will, business will intrude into your private mourning time, but it's got to be done.  Your private time will come suddenly after his funeral and hit you like a brick wall, so prepare for it.

I lost my father 20 years ago, and my mother 4 years ago.  I was lucky to be with my mom when she passed, and was also the executor of each their wills, and planner of their funerals, so I understand what you're going through.

All I can offer is to say that the greatest lessons for us are generated by the most difficult situations.  I encourage you to do the best you can at this time, and exit this situation with no regrets.
