Hi Guys,

We have a special run we are looking at and need some modern Peterbuilt style Trucks for our trailers.  Not sure what all is out there and you guys seem on top of modern transportation.  I waved some of my Mack R's under their noses and they are too dated.  With or with out Cab Extension is ok.

I would get in touch with "jimmo" here on TRW or via his eBay store Willmodels.  I know that he has mentioned that he is developing a master for a resin Peterbilt 377.  His mastering is of a quality I feel will be worthy of Micro-trains.

Atheran Ford C cab 1960-1993
Atlas, GHQ and CinC: Ford LNT 9000 9060's-1980's
Showcase Kenworth T600 1995-2000's. Metal kit not in production but masters are available.
Con-Cor/Herpa Kenworth W900 1980's era. Poor chassis and wheel detail.
Athearn Mack R 1964-1993
GHQ: Pete 359 1960's - 1980's. White metal kit.
Willmodels: Pete 277 1990's to today. Resin kit.
Kato Volvo VN780 2000's. Poor detail aft of sleeper.

That is pretty much all she wrote.
Now if MTL made a good quality International, Western Star or Freighliner, well we would buy those by the boat load. Especially if they came with a 53 foot sheet/post trailer. Hint Hint Hint.

+1...especially the Internationals, I have a soft spot for those, as that's what the trash company I worked for runs.

So Joe,

For clarification. Are you looking to:

1) "Decorate" a currently produced model to pair with your existing trailer

OR

2) Solicit suggestions from which you will develop a new model.

My interpretation of your request option #1. Just trying to not have this turn into a wish list exercise if that was not the intent.

i used a showcase kenworth sleeper and reworked it and made a freightliner  classic using  a concor kenworth cab. and made a 90's peterbuilt by using the showcase sleeper. i molded the sleeper then reshaped it to look like the pete sleeper then remolded it and used the ghg cab.

53' trailers is the one major hole unfilled for the modern n scale modeler. In fact just watched another 100 car + roll by on Tuesday filled to the hilt with plethora of 53" trailers.  *sigh*

Joe, I think for what you are looking for (super modern class 8 tractors) there really i9sn't anything available. Kato will not produce the cabs seperatly from the containers and chassis, making it a non-starter.

Can I ask how large this custom run is? Is he looking at resin loads, or a detailed model? I think this might be a good time to take a look at an MTL vehicle line.

Think about this: Atlas Ford Explorers run about $25 for a two pack. The Kato volvo tractor, almost a bargain at $22. Athearn Mack cabs? They now start at $22 EACH. All of these vehicles sell out each run.

If MTL was able to get a PACCAR, Volvo and Ford license, you could really come out with some good models that are in high demand for modelers AND collectors. Take a single vehicle a month, with a new paint job and sell it for $20-25 depending on complexity. They would sell, you have to trust me on this.
