Much info here and on the links supplied in it http://cs.trains.com/trn/f/111/p/156787/2053912.aspx
I really like the NYC car and it's containers.  If only some small manufacturing company could make this available in n-scale...

Heh, that's helpful.

But who received such small shipments of coke? It seems like most coke users would use lots of it,

For circle keystone scheme, use Floquil zinc chromate primer.  That is the color of the DB4A resin and that is the color recommended by PRRT&HS.  It is the color used on the PRRck ESM G26.  The containers AFIAK stay this color.  For the shadow keystone scheme that would be used for the gons, it's a mix of the zinc chromate and a tuscan color that I don't remember.  But it's the color of all ESM PRRsk, PRRpk and Conrail releases, so you can match it to that.

That generic "1950s" designation is pre-shadow keystone, because the CK and SK paint colors are not similar.

So is it safe to say SK would be 100% Special Oxide Red?

I'm guessing a mix of each color would be permissible. The containers don't necessarily need to match the gon, do they? Are they paired units?

Good chance they wouldn't...  Drift cars were the ideal, but rarely attained when paint was purchased locally from multiple vendors.  In fact, you could probably get ballsy and have some very slight variation among the containers themselves...  but it would need to be pretty subtle.

Ok, I know I want these (and may have missed the first run boat) but ... what's a ChuckPak?
