I have a soft spot for ore cars, any chance you have a close up view of one of those?

Well I had time this week to do a little painting. I found Pictures of CP 6028 a few years ago and for anyone that hasn’t see 6028 here is the proto picture.

I couldn't say for sure Jeff, but I would assume that the reason for the 2 Canadian flags is that the doors closest to the lettering were replaced with scavenged ones off another unit that happend to have that graphic on them. You can see that the 2 doors with the second flag are a slightly lighter hue that the rest... Just a theory. Do you have any other earlier photos of 6028 or one from the brakemans side to confirm this?

....spent some hours trying to re-wheel the CRS 20 chassis with Kato low profile wheels.....and swearing a lot.     Gave up and went into the office to put in overtime.. (which is actually less painful than re-wheeling N scale chassis

No pix, yet, but:

A.  I decided to defer the helix for the C&I Sub and go with the smaller staging yard on a single-level for now.  It's simpler, less expensive and will tell me a lot about how much staging I really need before I go more complicated, more expensive  multi-level route.

B.  I built and test-fitted the module for Flag Center, which will also be the entryway for staging.  At the moment the Flag Center module is in the garage getting stiffeners  and legs installed.

This would go faster if I wasn't also trying to watch the NFL playoffs at the same time.

I'll post pix to the C&I Sub thread in Layout Engineering, in a day or 2 after I get it back up there and installed.  I also have some cleaning up and clearing out to do before I (semi-)permanently install the new module.
Regards,
Paul

I did some work on some narrow gauge stuff.

Weathering on the deck is not quite done; couplers and Fox Valley Z wheelsets are ordered but have not arrived.

Dismal Swamp RR had one 'passenger car'.  I went ahead and painted around the window openings prior to installing glass because I know myself.

My project to model the entire Austro-Hungarian Navy in 1:1250 scale continues.  Battleship Radetzky (not quite completed) in center, SMS Tatra off starboard side of Radetzky and torpedo boat SMS Magnet on other side.  Penny for scale reference.

Seems that if a prank was done here they at least did both sides.

Even on the opposite side, the doors appear noticeably different from those around them.   It definitely looks like someone was just playing around a bit.

That probably means there's some other unit rolling around with no Canadian flags on it at all, and maybe just the US flag next to the CPRail logo.

Forget that unit. Look at the MILW/Soo hotness!

Just some misc stuff here and there for me. Started working more on the east module to try and reduce the stark contrast in scenery to no scenery on the two modules.

First off I started working again on Bernie's C&O standard tower that is at the junction of CP-PEMI. This has been an on again off again project. I've decided to board it up, closing it in 1990. SI still need to board up the upstairs windows, get the stairs on, and redo the roof with scale shingles.

Looking west on the east module. You can see the new roadway to the right installed for the mill that will be going in. The lot on the left will be train station parking. Still in the air for what I want to use for the station. I wish there was a nice NYC stone station out there!

Looking east.

Some more work on Amoskeag Cold Storage. This too has been an on again off again project.
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Yes... I'm in N... Also HO and 1:1

Playing around with flex track and switches, I think I finalized the Wilkes Barre Connecting RR addition to make my yard look and operate more like Buttonwood.

The outside track on the left will be the fueling area and yard office.  Still no idea where to put the abandoned icing platform, maybe on the track inside of the fueling one(?).

I just noticed how bad it looks where I removed the MT uncoupling magnets.  Black paint activate.  Now, about those ground throws...

Scottl wanted to see an SP G100 ore car, real or mine? Here's both, first an actual car, nice weathering eh?

And here is a picture of one of mine assembled and painted. Still much work to do with underfame details, painting, decaling, weathering and of course all those end ladders. I hope to be able to run this ore drag by summer.

Thanks for the pics, your castings are excellent.  That train will look snappy finished and snaking down the tracks.
