A 60' NSC box car could be done up in a variety of colorful schemes: TBOX, CP, CSXT, LW, SRY, and some less colorful: NS, DWC/CN.

I'd like to see the high-side 4427 in some original release, early schemes. Specifically billboard NP and TLDX schemes (Cooperative Marketing Association, Cargill - small and large tear drop versions, Illinois Grain, Early & Daniel, TLDX lease, General Grain, Continental, Pillsbury, etc.); but also NAHX, MKT, USLX, and ATSF.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

What, no halloween car this year?  Guess I won't need to buy anything this month

On another note, I'd be up for that CSX Ortner runner pack

The UP cars are kinda nice, can anyone fill me in on an era for them?

They're former Rock Island cars... built 1967 (MTLs car copy says they were built in 1971... if that was the case, it'd be a 4740...)... acquired by UP in 1980 and numbered 80950-81950.... most had RI patchjobs of some sort or another... but some did get repainted.  I would like to see a photo from the 80's of a repaint... I'll habe to dig around through some color guides.

Here's a picture of one of the MTL numbers dated 8/12/2006:

Thanks for the link, I did see this, but was talking about single cars, like the TCMX car (prototype paint job) http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2805135 , and NS boxcar (skull foobie).  Was hoping for another prototype, there is a CSX boxcar out there with a huge skull on the side, but I can't find the picture right now

Ok Dave, tell me what you need? :D  Nows a good time to give me some ideas, I'm sure I can come up with something to drain your wallet.

SP Ortner runner pack would also be draining on the wallet.

I should mention, the NP and TLDX Lease and Cargill cars I would take in runner packs.

How about some Southern and/or Norfolk & Western (NOT Norfolk Southern!!!) 3 bay open hopper runner packs.

Joe, If you guys do the 100 ton hoppers in N&W again, please fix the lettering (last time was close but no cigar!)

While that photo of the full repaint is from 2006, the repainting would have taken place before use the simplified paint scheme, which started in the 1985-86 time frame.

I will look through my collection to see if I have photos of these from the 1980s.

THIS Dave is stoked about the PRR D78 diner car!  When do you expect it, and is the first run coming in Pennsy paint?   :D
