I spent the past week assembling and installing 126 pairs of Micro-Trains 1025 and 1027 couplers. Jeez, my fingers hurt from tapping all those holes, especially in those Micro-trains metal underframes.

I doubt if I'll do much else this weekend as I recover.

Hmm...I hope Kiz buys

The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Well, I guess since I have a new lens, I can begin to share some things again.

This is the first of 6 40' NP Double Dr Leaser Boxcars.  I cannot remember if this one came from the Erie or DL&W without looking.

Ah... hate to say it but it is not near the 8th...

I start it on Friday eve so everybody can post at their own time . We use the Sunday date for ease in searching . Been doing it this way for quite awhile .

RIght, but today is only 3 August, which makes Sunday 5 August not 8 August . . . .

Was over at Eric's (seusscaboose) this evening testing the FMs and Alco S-2 (which will soon be replaced) that Lee decoderized for me several month back.

I went to work on the railroad with gusto. Then I remembered why I stopped last week. I'm out of terminal rail joiners. I spent some time making new ones, and then I was spent. I'll update later with some photos of what I've managed to accomplish.

I sense an article coming? Or at least a web post?

PRR K4 problem solved thanks to a Starmans special.  Here is the detailing of the Trix shells I have been working on.  For 30 or 40 year old tooling, these MiniTrix shells are actually quite nice expecially when detailed and painted.

I received my package from Lou yesterday. The 62' beer car has already been stripped and I dug out my old photos of the FGE 5237/5145.

I have no way of measureing the outside of the real car, so I had to do some math with the photos. The ribs appear to be on 36" centers when measured against the 68" truck wheelbase. With seven ribs each side, you get 42 feet, plus 12 feet for the door an another foot for the box corrigations on the ends. That gives me a rough carbody length of 55 feet. This sounds about right as the interior length is 52'6"

Just wish I could measure the rear car and get a hard number.

Now I have to figure out how to splice the body without making any seams. Anyone have any good ideas?
