I was wondering the same. Maybe a reference to Atlas's release announcement? (Which completely fell off my radar the moment it was announced, being too contemporary a prototype.)

Nice to see this model coming out. But I have one observation of the drawing of the model. The bottom of the door looks to me that it is about a foot above where it should be? What's everyone's opinion of this. Compare these two links. One the model the other the proto.

Nice to see this model coming out. But I have one observation of the drawing of the model. The bottom of the door looks to me that it is about a foot above where it should be? What's everyone's opinion of this. Compare these two links. One the model the other the proto.

Jon,  I looked back and forth about 10 times and it looks as if the model's door is lower than the protophoto. However, I wonder if there are just different variations of this car.  The sill seems different as well.

I don't know all of the particulars but I've been under the impression that Evergreen was a wholly owned sub of the SP.

Hm, to my eye it looks like the door is the same, but the difference is in the width of the sill, which appears to be more narrow on the model.

BTW are those supposed to be body-mounted couplers?

Right, many of the Evergreen cars were absorbed into the SP fleet. Which is why I am asking. If these are, say, SP class B70-38s, those were Evergreen cars before being SP cars so, since Evergreen decals are available from Microscale, I can get my Evergreen cars no matter what. That is if they're the right or close enough car. PC&F manufactured a lot of different and proto-specific designs.

Guess what I should say is if you compare the bottom edge of the door to the line of rivets going down one of the panels, that line of rivets should go no farther down then the bottom of the door. So I guess whats really going on here is that sill is way too thin. That sill line should line up with the bottom of the ends of the car and not a foot below. I'm thinking that WOT did this to make the car look like it rides lower possibly?

I haven't been able to find the prototype for the single door version shown in the drawing, but the door looks like a 10'(+) version of the 8' doors used on the SP double door B70-51 class. Otherwise, the proportions of the door, its setting, and the sill align pretty well to the EFCX car I posted earlier (which is the same as SP class B70-38), it's just a slightly different door design on the WOT drawing. In my trying to find a photo of such a combination, I have noted that on the SP cars I have found (which many were Evergreen cars prior) the single doors are a flush mount design without the external framing around the perimeter and across the center of door, as the Youngstown door featured on the WOT single door's drawing had.

The door may have a prototype or be an amalgamation of prototypes. I'm going to shoot an email to WOT to see what the prototype is.
