really need any.  If this was something that I needed, the process would find me assessing the cost per item delivered to my door.  MSRP or other pricing numbers have no relavence other than potentially being useful as a number for insurance valuation.  Were I able to fondle the actual model at Trainmaster my resistance might crumble like a late afternoon sand castle...

Can't say I blame you.  Even though my order turned out as $22.95 per car (not $30.00+), I still hesitated before I pulled the trigger.  In fact, I originally looked at the office after work but waited to get home before I placed the order after much deliberation in a half-hour commute.

No buyer's remorse here, though.  We've been waiting for this model for a long time, and it appears to be a high-quality product.

Me too. I want a DME one. I really only need one, but shipping is probably going to be about five bucks so I feel like I should get at least two. If I get 2 I might as well get all 3, but that's $66! If i get all those I might as well get the "Damaged Freight" equipped ones... that's another $66... Gets to be alot spent on box cars.

Then there's the worry that if I don't get one or more now, I'll could end up paying even more later on ebay, or that they just plain never turn up like the FVM double doors and I never get any...

Frankly, I'm getting a little tired of the "elephant in the corner" on Railwire which is basically that ER is some kind of evil operation. 

Get over it folks - they make great stuff that rides at the correct height, has the bodymount  couplers that everyone has been screaming for, doesn't fall of the rails when you look at it cross eyed and their direct fulfillment is incredibly fast.

They are (essentially) $23 ea, not $22. Exactrail is evil, eats babies all the time, clubs seals, leaves the toilet seat up.

I ordered 12. I have a few weaknesses, one of which is that modeling CN I somehow need a fleet of these waffles (see 0:45 of video). These waffles (all with a different door than the model) are as common as mosquitoes up here.

I agree with you when it comes to Exactrail's business model.  If that's what they need to do to stay in business, then so be it.  But they seemed to have dropped the ball big time on this release: the N model has a Stanray 'X panel' roof, which seems to be uncommon at best and incorrect at worst.  To make matters worse, the HO model has the correct P-S style roof.  What's going on here?

Every other aspect of this model seems quite nice (and sorely needed), so I'd almost be willing to overlook the roof, but the nail in the coffin is that shipping to Canada is $25.25 unless I order $150 worth.  If these had the correct roof, I'd bundle an order with some FBOX's etc., but now I'll pass.  Very disappointing.

My blissful ignorance is shattered, thanks.  Those are nice cars but I had wrongly assumed they did not find their way onto CN rails.  I might need to get a few, but the shipping is criminal.  I have no qualms about buying direct, but this sale is lost for postage extortion- it's 2012 Exactrail, we all know what it really costs to ship to Canada and it ain't $25.

As for seeing them in Ontario, they make their way to the jewel of Canada... Oshawa, and then IIRC, 546 or 548 takes them to Ajax for Hupaco, makers of wood pallets. Business at Hupaco is either really brisk or they go elsewhere. Example, on one day at Whitby I caught 372 heading into the Shwa to set out 15 of them, while 570 sat on the south service track waiting to head west to Mac with 13 of them.

I picked up two, and threw in a lesser-priced boxcar to get the free shipping.

Looks like more roof-swapping will be in order.  I had to do this with the BN Gunderson car, now I'll have to remember what I did.  I think it was from an Athearn car that Clune designed and had the P-S roof as a separate component, possibly the SEICO model.

UPDATE - No, not the SEICO model, as that has an X roof.  The EXR Gunderson car has a Stanray diagonal roof.  Going to have to research to see if someone makes the roof as a separate part.  Athearn NACC plug door?  Except they are hard to find now.

CONFIRMED - the Athearn NACC 50' plug door boxcar, P-S version, has the bow-tie roof.  But the undecs are long discontinued and it's going to be hard to find any decorated ones, as the last few releases have featured the Superior door / Stanray diagonal roof variation.

Not trying to contradict anyone but ER over on TB says the car is correct for most deliveries.

Frankly, I could care less about the roof, I am more concerned about the sides.
