In all seriousness though, i'm probably going to pick one of these up at the Greenberg show in Edison NJ in August. Mostly to weather it like the article in Model Railroader, plus it'll give me something more era correct to run behind my NS MP15-DC rather than my 1950s era stock.

The only way you are going to get these at a show is if somebody is selling them used. The only way to buy these cars is through Exactrails website.

But they're on "sale"...  If the manufacturer doesn't use their own suggested retail price, is it really a retail price?

Well look, forget the stupid sale price nonsense.   They are like $22 each.

The question is - could I make one for $22???   No, I couldn't make one for a zillion dollars because that's not what I can do.  Could I pay someone to make one for $22???  I doubt it.

And by the way....   There are MTL cars in this price league now as well as others.  FVM cars are less expensive, but to ER's credit they ride at a nice height, while FVM keeps getting higher - which is inexplicable given how much airplay this issue gets around places like this....

Frankly, I'm getting a little tired of the "elephant in the corner" on Railwire which is basically that ER is some kind of evil operation. 

Get over it folks - they make great stuff that rides at the correct height, has the bodymount  couplers that everyone has been screaming for, doesn't fall of the rails when you look at it cross eyed and their direct fulfillment is incredibly fast.

It's 2012 people - welcome to the brave new way of doing things!

Mark the shipping was not that much.  If you order more than one the shipping is the same.  These look like nice cars, so I couldn't resist.  Would not be a bit surprised to find them on Ebay shortly, selling at a higher price than Exactrail is offering.
