UP 5037 is done except for the NTRAK Steam Addendum write up . Don't know what is next , but I have some steam just awaiting my decision , and a slew of non-railroad stuff that demands my time .

What, who, where, and how?

I was wondering the same thing.

Hmm... probably costs too
much for Kiz...

The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Magnificent job there, Richie.

Although I post this here with some trepidation, I'm way to excited to hold back.  I blew the rest of my year's modeling budget (or until I pay it off in overtime) on a purchase that I sincerely hoped that I would not regret.

This thing is amazing.  It's beautiful, and it runs surprisingly well.  It came without a coupler on the tender, but there was a screw that accepted a MT 1015-1 quite nicely.  It pulled 28 passenger cars this afternoon on (relatively) level track.  It can probably pull more, but I was running out of passenger cars to test with.  It can just barely negotiate a 15" radius curve, but that's definitely its lower limit; the slightest kink or imperfection will derail it.  It navigates Atlas #5's with no problem, and it seems to do fine on my mainline 18" radius curves.  I haven't had any issues with electrical pickup.

So far, this has been a winner, if an expensive one!  Now it just needs a DCC decoder.

Started this today. Having all three airbrushes (two poc starters and then a harbor freight $20) out of commission, I decided to get a rattle can and some testors enamel at hobby lobby today and start repainting my C420. I went with a basic dip, like on my ANRR locos (I can post pics later if wanted), but add some white to the sill. And, since I have microbrushes and the Atlas assembly has the battery boxes on the cab, I hand-painted the white with a micro-brush and am really pleased. The red is actually Chevy flame red, even though I'm  mopar guy (it beat out hugger orange and hemi orange). Further plans include decaled numbers on the cab, and reporting marks on the long hood. Right now it might be BBLX (Berry Brothers Leasing), but that is subject to change. I'll probably get the waethering within one coat, then put the decals on and finish weathering.
Anyways, here's how she came out (gotta love the insane heat, helped cure the paint quickly)

Bryan,

I would guess that this is a sample of things to come. Very nice G32 Waffle Side Gon. Do you have any spares laying around. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Well presented model of a unique car.

Regards

Al

My layout is finally getting to the stage where it looks somewhat completed. Wanted to share a few photos with everyone. Still a lot of little details to add, but from a distance it gives the impression of being done.

We already have some eager Star Trek fans getting ready for the next movie which opens in May 2013. They are really early!

Some shots showing the layout skirting that was recently added:

and finally, a view from a helicopter that was flying over one of the towns:

Enjoy!
