BLI E-6's have hit the shelves...

To bad there are no product photos...interested to see how they pulled off the anti-climber/pilot. Hopefully its not the like the gaping E-8 faces, this is why the Kato E-8 with a detail kit is still the ticket to beat IMHO for later EMD passenger equipment.

The above stated...those B&O and Santa Fe E6's are quite tempting.

A Santa Fe arrived at the shop today......WOW!!!!! I had a hard time not walking out with it. The saving grace is that I have nothing to put behind it.

My B&O is due tomorrow. I will have pictures tomorrow night.

The B&O would look good with MT heavyweight coaches behind it, but I'd rather have this one.

Hmmmm..., no interest in these units for me. Hopefully, they'll do well. I kinda thought they were through with n, but I suppose these were in the "pipeline". I wonder if we will ever see anything else from these guys? ;)

Whew.  Thank God there were no Atlantic Coast Line E6s in that delivery to MBK.  I don't know that I could have resisted a purple and silver slant nose E unit, despite the E6 being out of my era.

Pilot actually looked good.  Paint on the Santa Fe units we got in yesterday looked amazing.  Shiny stainless sides, duller silver roof, sharp warbonnet.  I'm really tempted to get one and update it to it's 60's appearance.

If they do a proper Illinois Central I'd suddenly become interested.

I'm curious about the UP colors used. A friend had an issue with the Kato City of LA set and some older Kato E6 units, and I would like to know if anyone here has picked up one of the new BLI locomotives and compared it to the newer Kato passenger cars?

Cheers!

I pre-ordered the UP units and will take photos of them soon as I receive them. They should have already shipped, but I've been out of the country the last few days and don't get back till this evening.

My Rock Island E6s are scheduled to arrive on Monday. Can't wait to hook them up to my Twin Star Rocket.

My wallet is thankful ACL purple was not in this patch.

I emailed them and begged...... well, yes, I begged.

If and when they do ACL, PLEASE do number 501.

That loco still exists.  It went to Waycross shops on the CSX for an overhaul several years ago.

It would be a shame to do purple ACL E3/E6s and not do one that still survives.

As stated above, that makes two of us!  Oh, wait, three; my wife, too.   ;)

Ron,

Do you know the history of #501?  I recall reading it was built as an E3, wrecked before delivery, and rebuilt as an E6.  Is this correct?  If so, what happened?!
