Congrats Mike and Robynn for you getting safely away from it all. My wife and I love to take mostly day trips or overnight eras from our place outside of Madison, Wi. It’s been a tough year for that with pandemic and then the July and August excessive heat. We had thought of buying a small RV but it seems lots of folks have been doing that. We’ve have been checking out small empty towns this summer and no inside restaurants but only 1 per week and absolutely no overnights. Lots of good scenery shots for my photo backdrop I will be working on this winter. Glad you are back in the studio and layout room.

Our trip this coming February to New Zealand and Australia has been cancelled as they were not doing travel visas when we applied. Rod, I had no idea of the strict Australian regulations. I’d go crazy trying to do a scenic drive within 5k of the house.

Also rekindled are the 3D printing projects. @GaryHinshaw needed a handful of searchlight heads, so I cleaned-up and adjusted the Photon, bought Anycubic's wash and cure machine on sale, and have been keeping it busy with signal stuff.

  Lest anyone think I am taking Mike's generosity for granted, I am making steady progress on the signal builds for TBC, including this cute little dwarf mast, with one of Mike's printed heads circled:

I concur! The head on that dwarf really pops with the great paint work.

Speaking of the new batch - the build platform was out of level and I was getting 20-25% rejects. After readjustment and using the new wash/cure machine I ran a batch of H-5 heads and the improvement was eye-opening. This makes me wonder how many of the "new" H-2s are out-of-kilter in a less-obvious way. So I'm going to re-run the H-2s today and get a bunch of each out the door this week.

The inline image problem could be a browser issue with non-HTTPS inclusions. I've learned that Firefox can get queasy over the mix, but [...somewhere...] there's a variable to tell it to display anyway. Also, it's a cropped PNG screenshot rather than my usual JPG. Give me a couple of minutes to convert it to JPG and we'll see if that helps.

It's nice to be interested in my train stuff again. This summer's been tough to handle.

Oh, join the club! Already have the artwork including test prints, the problem is lighting 'em. The searchlights use RTR LEDs, proper colors and wiring, and "drop" into the heads. The super-hard, super-intense work is done for you. The current 3-color rendition is setup for separate 0603 LEDs in little pockets, but I threw my hands up in multiple attempts to wire them (I should stop eating my hands). 

I'm standing by for Showcase Miniatures to release the Type D they mentioned several months ago to see what their solution is. I want a single board with wires attached. If they don't do it, I plan on a dialog with Dick Bronson to see if he can do an N-scale-specific light board that, if dimensioned correctly, will fit old-style cast backs and modern modulars.

I clicked on the panel pro photo you last posted and it sent me to a new tab with the panel graphic.  today's post contained nothing for me to click on.

If your using Chrome and can't see the picture, you probably need to go into the Site Settings and click 'Allow' for Insecure Content.

I'm on Chrome and it says "connection is secure" with a lock icon.
