I like the way you built the body of yours.  I built one of the Z grassinators and if you glue it all together, it is tough to make changes/adjustments.  On yours it would be real easy to change out different grass hoppers.

actually after a couple trial tests.. I think I'm going to have the hopper a separate container,  Then I can attach different sizes if I need to fit into tight spaces.

Also, I used the screen from a kitchen strainer and I think it's actually too fine.  the grass doesn't come out very fast and I have to shake the hell outta the thing to get it to work ;)   I'm going to try good 'ol ACE hardware window screen next.

Silflor late summer is the best generic grass/field color. From there you can create mixes of Woodland Scenics static grass and/or Silflor's summer or autumn mixes.

The Noch grass is just bright red, green and yellow fibers that look like crap when photographed up close.

Here is a graphic I made quite a while ago...

Since you're in the modification mode, consider this design.  Easy load, easy unload.  Gets into tight spaces nicely.  The charged wire is attached to the screen so there are no contact issues to deal with.  I really like mine.

Aluminum window screen will work fine.

OK I'm curious, where did  you get the generator?
Is this basically what you guys are using?

That's the straight 120VAC version.  I use the 12VDC version with a wall wart plugged in to the handle for power through an RCA jack.

Got it. It was the first one I found. There was one on eBay that was 12VDC with a cigarette adapter
