Not much to report from the BYR, it's just been to nice to stay couped up indoors. I've begun completing other yearlong goals for the Jeep.

Last week her trans was swapped for a rebuilt one, transfer case was resealed, and new shocks and springs were installed. Whichever Bubba had it before me loved to weld and use multiple layers of paint... While I'm not restoring my gal to show quality, I do want to clean it up. In terms of historically accurate, this may represent field expedient job by the service division (company motor pool).

This weeks progress is a timeline of shots:









Next weekend I'll clean up this last weld...

MC - if you are taking pre-orders I'd like a dozen.

No pics (too lazy last night to take them) but I did manage to get my "new" airbrush cabinet about 75% complete.  Need to drill a couple of holes for the airhose and power cord, and then install the door baffle.  All brought to you courtesy of our local ReStore pusher . . . .

And I got the same car Dave Vollmer showed earlier - I echo all the comments.

It was too warm to sleep last night....(yes, the guy in Central Ontario said it was too warm to sleep in mid March...it was over 70 at 11;00 Pm last night...um...I think something has gone wrong with the earth's temprature controls....) so I wandered down to weather a boxcar....

Spent the better part of the weekend organizing RR stuff so it'll fit in the office. TRied to figure out the best way to plan out a shelf layout but can't get Xtrackcad or RTS to do what I want.  Haven't really used either one to much so they probably can do what I want I just can't figure out how. Anybody have a template card for N scale trackwork so I can just do it on paper?  I'd like to use Peco switches but may revert to Atlas if I can get the design I want.

Also looked at what it would take to put my White Tower into a DPM Hilltowne Hotel.  Might work.  Progress when I can SEE the workbench.

I'm sorry, that IS the best tree I've ever seen!!!   :o  Excellent work M.C. and thanks for posting the "how" link.     

For me, I finally finished the Conrail MT-4 project.  And yes, the paints are different shades on the SD38 and slug unit....  :RUEffinKiddingMe:  :facepalm:

Brian,

That slug looks great! As for the color difference, maybe a bit of a fade coat to the SD-38 and a "darkening" coat to the slug? Might end up with a bigger mess to fix, but it is something to ponder.

While you're at it Bryan, see if you can tool a better fuel/air tank set-up for those dimensionless Atlas RS units...oh and maybe one for the VO-1000's too.  :D

I wouldn't change a thing on the slug; it's great and let's face it sports fans, Conrail blue comes in many shades...... weather, exposure, sun, heat, dirt, grime...paint manufacturer......all paints have a ranges and that's in the range.
