Wwwwwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

The coolest modern day railroading image I've ever laid eyes on. Notice the grouping of the units.

I can only assume they will do a calendar.  It will be spectacular.

That's some awesome grouping, but they should have switched the original Norfolk Southern with the Interstate, or did the southern acquire the Interstate as well?

Now we know why they picked the number of heritage units to paint that they did; they're out of tracks to spot the locomotives!

Holy costume party, Batman! What a sight! :o   For those of you that salivate at these beauties - NS Corp updated there IOS and Android app to include tracking of the Heritage fleet!

http://www.nscorp.com/nscportal/nscorp/Media/News%20Releases/2012/app_upgrade.html#&panel1-4

How cool is that! NS is supporting the rail fan to get pictures of these engines at work!  Maybe a way for them to see what kind of interest the public has on the Heritage fleet and gauge their ROI.  Either way - it's awesome!   Let's hope their crews update the tracking as well!  Will make it easier for us rail fans to get a glimpse of these works of art!

Can you imagine how long it took to move the locomotives around the turntable to set up that photo? Combine that with the cost to take power out of revenue service to move to Spencer on top of the paint jobs.....Some serious PR budget funding was approved for this event.

Now I know why my contract renewals involving NS have been a steady 6.4%

I think it was Trains that has already lined up a 64 page special release for the event.  I can't remember all the details and don't have the email any longer.

Wonder if NS gets a cut from that?

Awesome picture though...

The App is pretty cool, I like how it tracks the locomotives, kinda wished it was a little more "Live" and not user initiated. However I understand the implications of "live" tracking.
