I'm digging the track angles and the varied stonework.

Weather the scene real good and you could call it "Some Wear in New Jersey"  :ashat:

What kind of crane is that?
Has a nice small base, and looks properly used.

No crane... it's a ditcher. A brass model (Overland Models) that was a gift. Didn't have a mantle on which to pose it at the time, so I weathered the heck out of it so it wouldn't look out of place on a modern layout.

When it comes to my home state, everything is well worn in New Joisey.

I ate following a DKS modeling update . . .

So, what did you have--pizza?

Got a lot more done yesterday, despite being sick.  Hope to take some decent photos soon, but here's a sneak peek...

Got milk?

The dairy platform is complete and installed. I'll be weathering it with some chalk powders once it's completely dry.  Here's the finished platform before painting:

And after.

The effect I was going for was very weathered wood. I'll probably add some stairs off to the side later on.

Well, my 1'2 has seen some good progress, but I don't think it'll be done in time for Medford. There's just waaaaay too much other more important stuff to get done before I leave--like make a hardcopy version of my animation clinic because there won't be a projector & screen there ( :RUEffinKiddingMe: ). So here's where it stands for now:

In the second image you can see the dwarf signal works. The switch on the fascia controls it, along with two pedestrian lights under the bridge, and a sound effect unit that creates the sound of crickets chirping very faintly, which adds to the atmosphere (or I'd like to think it does, anyway).

That looks just amazing, DKS.  Brings back many memories of my childhood and youth, both living in and travelling to and through Jersey.  And the details have given me a bunch of ideas for another diorama/microlayout.  Nice touch with the lighting and crickets, but what about the smell? :D

If it makes it to Medford, it will smell like glue.

David,

Is that this bridge?
http://whiteriverandnorthern.net/image_22.htm

Yes, that's the one. The dio is full of "old" models like that. There's a little sand pile with wooden walls I made while I was in high school for the first WR&N. All of the stonework (with one exception) is from the last WR&N, as are the ashpit and signal bridge. The handlaid switches are from the same layout as the bridge, which was the "floating doughnut."

Outstanding work, David.  Better watch it, we're starting to expect that sort of thing from you now.
