Yes, the one I saw was "truly" N scale, and was completely re-tooled from the one with giant LED's.  Their quality is just a little questionable up close.  It almost looks like a wax master was used to make the targets and it got hot and deformed before casting.

Though the model in the pic looks HO to me.

Any comments on the new Bachmann N ACF?

Looks like MR used HO pics to illustrate both HO and N - lazy!

The Bachmann PDF has the N scale test sample which appears to have glass.  I'd post the pic, but I've already had my hand slapped.

From this picture, the HO S4 looks spot on. Now for the 6 more months until it's hopefully announced in N.

More like 12 months. Bachmann has taken a policy of only announcing once a year at the NMRA show. They only announce a product once it is in production also.

Oops! I had mistakenly thought the HO RS-3s were announced at Springfield. Oh well. At least there is some "promise" that ALCo switchers will find their way to N scale again.

From the side even the Atlas S4 looks good, but the end widnows in the cab is where the real test of accuracy lies.  ALCO S3 and S4 switchers had sealed end cab windows, where as the earlier S1 and S2 had bolted on window frames.  If the end windows don't have the railsed beads and rounded corners then they are incorrect.  Period.  But even still, a reasonably close S4 would be something very welcome in N (maybe addling blunt trucks will yeild a good S2?)... so lets hope that they follow the trend in offering such.

It should be added, this would only apply to as-delivered locomotives.  Some S2s in their later years got sealed windows.

One other note for PRR modelers, I asked the Con-Cor rep about MP54's, said that they've had a lot of interest expressed regarding MP54's in N Scale.  Sounds like these might be a future possibility.  If you've got any interest (or are willing to support those of us who are interested) shoot a message to Con-Cor and let them know.

The ACF 50'6" Boxcar looks just like the Atlas Trainman.
