Model Railroader has new products announcements from NTS

I'm salivating since CB&Q, IC and MILW used them. That being said I'm not up on my Flexi-Van history, what's the diff between these two and the 1 and 2?

Now where can we get a selection of containers to go with?

1 and 2 had center turntables as opposed to these with the end tables.

I got the RP's in too late to get them in the NTS preview, but Cory got some pics today for the post convention news. Just for a teaser, here is a preview of our first RTR car being produced. Flexi-Fan carriers in both Mark III and Mark IV.

Got my attention , this is great news .

I definatley would be interested in the NJ pre wired position light signals, I model some Conrail operations but mainly Chessie System in 1980 but aquiring B&O signals has been impossible! I'd love to get hands on some if they ever get produced! :-\

The ACF 50'6" Boxcar looks just like the Atlas Trainman.

That's too kind to Bachman and an insult to Atlas. Yes they're both based on the same prototype, but Bachman seems to have copied the old crappy Athearn "50' Railbox" boxcar. Clunky details, wrong roof, just minus the massive door claws on the old Athearn HO car.

  Has anyone heard any status report on the Bachmann EM-1 in n-scale?
I think I need this engine to keep my focus.

Their N models usially trail their HO models by at least three years. The 44 tonner was two decades late. The 70 tonner and B23 were out in HO for over a decade before N. The Connie, Mountins and 10 wheeler were at least three years behind. The only exceptions that I am aware are the GP7 and RS3.

Roger, they haven't announced an EM-1 in N scale yet, only HO. Hopefully for you as well as acouple of other guys on here, your wait will be short.

I think the n-scale market has changed.  Manufacturers cannot continue to consider we who model in n-scale as second class customers.
Bachmann has some good Spectrum line products in n-scale and must realize they need to build on that momentum.

Bachmann  
has far more production capacity at Kader/SandaKan than ever after chasing off other businesses.  Unfortunately, they can probably pull more pure profit from happy meal toys than building complex model trains for a detail oriented market.  Plastic Buzz Lightyear toys don't  require parts stock, customer service or a web forum...

Let us know what you think of them. My dad's eyeing them as well. If they did them in N, we'd be building 17-mile grade in his basement almost instantly (or mine),
