Athearn's doing the same caboose at half the price.  Probably a good call by EXR.

Quietly  
sliding funds from Exactrail preorder pile to Athearn preorder pile.  Two for the price of one is a grand thing for Mr. Wallet and quite welcome, abeit unexpected.  After watching Micro Trains take a full on beating by Athearn on SP cabeese Exactrail is probably making a wise decision.  When the industrys 800 pound gorilla isabout to do 'your' product its time to move on to something else...

Other way around... it was no secret Athearn was going to do that cab... it was a call by ER to sink money into it, and the leadership that decided that is no longer there.
