Richie keeps putting me in a TOFC kind of mood...nice work. As for me I finished the Andrew Junction and presented the little guy with his railway........maybe now I can get back to MY railway..... ;D...after I get to the honey do list of jobs that got back burnered to have tme to make the AJ....oh well; where is that dust rag anyway..? :-[ :-\

Further progress on Landsend Farm. Very nearly done now. Finished the barn...
 

 
Tried to turn a blob of metal into a tractor...
 


Created a little scene on the farmhouse porch--necking by moonlight (or bug light?) interrupted by grandpa...

Between stints at layout reconstruction at Lee's, taking awkward photos of Philip in compromising positions, and dealing with a winter storm, I found a few minutes this afternoon to do a little work on my own layout.  I hate ballasting in general, but ballasting turnouts is probably my least favorite thing to do.  However, I've got Chris333's turnout ballasted and have just about restored the smooth operation of the throw.



Next up is to buy some more scenery materials, so I can do something with the stark landscape.  I've also got a SuperTrees starter kit around here somewhere and may attempt to build my first trees at some point in the near future.  I also need to build that highway bridge and the road...  Sheesh, you would think that building a 2' x 3' layout wouldn't require much effort or take that long.  ;D

The last two weeks haven't seen much progress. Today was really the first time in a while I was able to get some basement time.

I was able to finish lighting and placing breaker #3. (just a number...I ain't building 2 more of them)  ;)

I really wish I could take better pictures...

I did some creation and test work on edge guards for the MARRS HO modules...



For the record, a jigsaw at max speed and no orbital action, with a 24-tpi metal-cutting blade, works just spiffy for cutting 1/8" acrylic.

Apparently we ALL Know what I did this weekend.  All I can say is we had fun, Lee's garage is BUTT cold, and I'm really looking forward to running on the new line.

I can confirm that it was #$@*ing cold in Lee's unheated and uninsulated detached garage yesterday.  That's why, in the following picture, what you're really seeing is Lee catching Philip building a roof over his new den, where he intends to curl up and hibernate.  Brrrrr!

I have found the camera, so now I can post a few updates of addtions to my fleet.

New power:

1941 has the endrails painted since I put a decoder in it. 1958 will have the same done when it gets a decoder.

Here's something I pulled a bit ago. Guess which one is the P1K box, and which is the trainset LL one?



Answer, the BAR one:

I added a KD box to the frame and then filled the hole with styrene rod (really a sprue). Then drilled and tapped the hole so I could use an athearn truck.

Still chipping away at the bridge project.  I decided against casting bridge supports and just formed all of them out of balsa wood.  It took some work to get the the 3 centre piers to match exactly because they are a very complex shape.  With some more sanding and filling they should all look the same.

I installed and painted the river surface.  Eventually this will be painted and coated with acrylic gloss medium / gloss gel to simulate the river surface.  Not sure how to transition between the river colour on the backdrop and the river colour under the bridge.  I think a grey-green colour is probably most appropriate for the foreground river scene.

Installed and began to paint the front fascia panels, then I just had some fun with photography, playing with low light and flash for some 'drama' shots.

Thanks David, and Tom! I guess it isn't too bad, and getting compliments from you two, I guess I am just being hard on myself. My complaint is that I am limited to either my Canon A70, or my wife's camera, which is just an upgraded A70. This photo was taken with my 3.2 mp Canon. I am just unhappy that I don't have something that would give me some more play, and less color noise.
