If I understand the blurb correctly, they tooled new *smooth* blank sides for them.  If that's the case, it becomes a whole lot more easier to add new etched sides of different styles.

There's no way I would I buy one of these just to strip them though.

Not with US Markings though. Even any British carrier groups were not responsible for support over the invasion task forces. That fell to the RAF and 9th Air Force on D-Day and the first few days. I don;t recall seeing any carriers in the Task group organizations  but do recall several ASW Hunter Killer groups operating to the south to interdict any Uboats.

But I digress. I got all the Navy cars when they came out and that's it for MTL Collector cars for me. But the Miltary collectors series seemd to do ok.
