Well the front truck is derailed, I guess that's sort of prototypical.
if you can't conduct yourself, conduct freight

I guess CSX is getting rid of this item because of all the brake power it has, stopping on a dime giving the engineers whiplash. Employee insurance can be a b!+ch!!!

"The Lucky Winner Will Be Thrilled!"  Apparently it will be packaged in $20 bills, and there's a bottle of Jack Daniels in the box.  Otherwise, I don't know how he can keep that kind of promise...

I can just see this baby pulling MARC Commuter trains on the NE Corridor. Con Cor use to offer this engine or a similar version(protype loco) made by KATO, but atleast they offered paint schemes for roads that had electrics,Am Quack (trak),PRR.,and several others. I notice the seller did not even attempt to repaint the body into Blue, Gray, Yellow colors. Nate Goodman (Nato).

In fairness, at least the seller isn't trying to pass this off as "highly prototypical" or as an "exact replica" like some I've seen.  There's a market for this fantasy stuff.  I absolutely don't understand it, but there is.

It has an "alternate reality" look to it, like if the Japanese had won WWII.

Judging by cars on the road, I'd say the Japanese and Germans did win WWII.

Bernie,

I had a similar thought recently,  Hanoi, Vietnam has a Pizza Hut and McDonalds . . .

I have seen much worse on there.  If it runs, the selling price isn't crazy, and makes the buyer happy, n scale life goes on.

Hey, whatever floats someone's boat!

Fantasy is a good thing - but in this case it looked less like fantasy and more like being stuck with a red Japanese boxcab and having a set of G-scale CSX decals lying around and doing the peanut butter meets chocolate thing.

Let's see.  Lets use our imagination.  CSX reinstalls overhead in their Baltimore tunnels.  No one in the U.S.A. does electrics they want so they buy from Japan.  CSX finds it's cheaper to run the electrics and doesn't have to spent money on fuel for the diesel helpers in Baltimore.  I wouldn't want onemyself but this scenario would work.

And orange would be the natural color. And CSX will start putting COTS on all their locos. What a wonderful world! ;D

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
