Well, the waffling has returned.

At first I was all about HOn3, and wanted to build the "lilliput logger" on a 4x8 foam sheet. (http://www.polyweb.com/dans_rr/blog/images/41YearsMR/Great4x8.jpg). It had all the elements I wanted, and I could rationalize all the space.

Then I realized I will ultimately be moving into a much smaller room in the next 6 months, and started thinking about N-scale again and all the modeling I could get out of a smaller space. After searching plans I came across : http://media.photobucket.com/image/n-scale%204x8/mightypurdue22/BluewaterandGrandviewRailway.jpg

It has a long main line, elevation, a great urban area and two separate aspects to the layout. Additionally I could stretch the layout to broaden the curves and not have the city area be a spaghetti bowl.

I cannot make a decision, which frustrates the hell out of me.

That's awesome!  It never even occurred to me that it might be a real place; I though it was just a bad Muppets pun!  Thanks for the photos.

Even better for you, it was served by the PRR. There was a PRR branch that went east that is no longer there. The PRR main is a bike path now. The town is named for Jeramiah Morrow and the song has some reference to him I believe. It was not originally done by the muppets. The track lasted into PC days.

For the first time in 6 months or so, I've been able to do some work on the layout. Over the summer, I added a branch line and finally started some scenery. I only got couple of pictures before the batteries died.

This part of the layout is winter and I almost wish I hadn't tried it. Sure is a challenge.

PS - The Conrail Box is just what was handy.  ;)

Kevin, I so want to run on your layout some time.  When are you having another session?

Whew!  Now I don't have to build a sleepy Conrail branch line!  Kevin's doing it for me!

How close to Raleigh are you?  I could arrange to visit my brother down there in tandem with an ops session...

I'm about 90-100 miles west of Raleigh. The regular Ops sessions are the first Saturday of the odd months (Jan, Mar, May...). There is a guy who comes from Raleigh for most of them. If you can get to there, maybe you could ride with him.

I am also participating in the NC Rail Run in Feb that was posted earlier. Can't say enough about the other layouts in that. Scott Teague's NS Pokey was in NScale and NScale Railroading and Mike Pennie's Penn Central was in Great Model Railroads 2007. Nothing like hearing how "OS Catasauqua" can get butchered.

Of course, we could discuss a Railwire Invitational Ops Session. Steve H. is the Dispatcher trainee.

To Morrow.  I don't know if they were the first to record it or who wrote it, (I think it was Don Gibson) but I have an album from the Kingston Trio that has that song in it.  It's about a guy who wants to go to Morrow and return later today.  One of those cute impossible situation novelty songs.

Bob,
Thanks. I will be in Morrow tomorrow.

It is about 20 minutes north of me.

I was in Queensland exactly 10 years ago.  I wound up spending New Years Eve in Airlie Beach.  I stayed in a youth hostel there and spent the night out on the town with my dorm mates from Switzerland, the UK, Canada, Italy and a US Marine there for training with the Aussie military.  We went out with the women in the female dorm.  I drank entirely too much, watched the fireworks over the water and wound up getting lost as we all looked for a pool to play football in.  I wound up coming to on the road about a mile from town wandering away from town!  Good times!!  I had one hell of a hangover the next day, not a fun thing in a place where it's 100+ degrees in the shade and very humid . . .

If paint the foreground trees a gray/brown color, and get them and the track in focus using Helicon, this photo would be excellent.   Something about the light and shadows on the building scream "real".

Currently working on a module for photo and video purposes.  Here are the concrete bridge abutments (thanks to Ian's technique of using anchoring cement).

Thanks for the props Bryan.
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!
