My point was that a bunch of RW folks already threw him a plywood party at Lee's house a matter of months ago.  Obviously being 2 days drive away, I wasn't one of them.  But still, it seems a little wasteful.  I know, none of my business.

EDIT:  Oh, hell, I just hope this one works out for Steve.  Steve, good luck.  If you DO follow through with this one I expect it will be an awesome layout.  In fact, Steve's plan is very appealing.

Okay, okay, I edited it.  I was probably being to harsh.  But my skepticism is borne of your plate of waffles. ;D

and that progress is not lost - i have one end of the yard laid out on a sheet of pink foam.  i'd love to make some more progess, but not being able to get the plywood home is problematic.  i do not feel comfortable strapping the 4x8 sheets to my roof and my brother-in-law's pickup truck has expired tags.  i figured with all the locals on TRW, one of them might step up and give me a hand.  i guess it's easier to talk smack about me never moving forward or changing my mind.  how stupid of me.

David, Lee, and Rock Island Brian have been a huge help and it is appreciated.  the plywood party at Lee's resulted in the benchwork that is now in place and ready for the next step - subroadbed.

I get off 7 AM Saturday morning if you want to make a Lowe's/Home Depot run. I will bring my ol' faithful pickup to work if that'll help you Steve. I want in return Dutch Crumb Donuts from Donut Shack in Severna Park as payment (at least 3 of 'em).

i don't think my HD rents trucks.  never thought of that.  and Brian, can't do it Saturday - i'll be in Etter's running the Reading's Rutherford yard on Jeff Warner's layout.

Every Home Depot (and Lowes for that matter) I've ever seen rents trucks by the hour. Availability may be an issue.

even though i own a home, i don't tend to frequent the HD or Lowe's enough to know they rent trucks.
