actually, Brian, i can meet you at Lowe's at Quarterfield - they open at 6am - i don't need to be on the road to Etter's until 8am - think we can do it that quick?

If you get there and buy it right at 7, be out front waiting with it, and the fine citizens of AA County decide not to need EMS at ~6AMish before I am relieved, then yes, I think we can. There won't be time for cutting, but you'll at least have it in your home.

Sheee it.  For sub roadbed, get the clown at the Depot to cut it into four 2x4 panels.  You can stick that in the back seat of the car, and finesse whatever pieces you need out of that.

i could piece it together with what i have, but i don't want a seam on the curves. the goal is to not do that - i'm using the subroadbed as a structural support and piecing it all together ruins that structural support - when it's together and you see it, you'll understand.

Not if you splice it properly.  Cut a 12" piece and put 5 screws and glue on each side of the joint.  It won't be going anywhere.  Just make sure you account for your switch machine locations before you start splicing willy nilly.

Cut the longest part of the curve first to minimize the joints that fall on a curve.  It's really not that hard to work out.

As I suggested last week in another thread, have Home Depot or Lowe's rip that plywood into 2' x 8' sections.  That will fit through the trunk into the backseat of your car.  I've done this many times, including hauling 2' x 8' sections of 2" foam.  These 2' x 8' pieces of plywood will minimize the amount of splices that you are concerned about.  BUT, DO NOT FORGET that trying to cut the subroadbed out of only large pieces of plywood equals tons of waste.  If you are careful in laying out the pieces before cutting, you might be surprised in how much you can get out of one sheet with minimal waste.  Waste equals more plywood which equals additional (and quite possibly) unnecessary expense.  You COULD even use the money saved to pay Home Depot or Lowe's to deliver the plywood to your home.

Not recommended, IMO. They charge absurd delivery fees, and you need to be around when it's delivered--which may or may not be a convenient time, since the time is more or less their choosing. Much better to rent their truck. If the round trip can be made inside of an hour, it's only $20, which is really hard to beat. I'm really thankful for this service, as I had to replace a burst water heater a few years back, and it was the only viable option to get a new water heater home in a timely manner, and for a very reasonable fee.

You're also going with the Homasote/Plywood sandwich, right?  Just make sure your joints don't line up between both materials and you'll be golden.

i do not want to splice on the radius sections.  the cuts will never be flush and having to sort out switch machine placement is a bear.
