I've begun working on a Gooderham resin kit of a Canadian Pacific RPO/Express car - curved side lightweight. Nothing to show yet however..............
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Here? Still working on the kitchen remodel that's in the way of all things MRR. Well, almost all things MRR...

...forgive me Father, for I have sinned. An eBay acquisition won in the wee hours this morning:

Yes, it's HO (^%$#@!!!) but Hell will freeze over before we ever see one in N. Sooner or later its cabless partner (and my forum namesake) can be had for less than a megabuck.  :-\

I’m continuing to add details and spruce up the part of Denver along the backdrop before scenicing this area.  These photos are of one of the first buildings I built about 5 years ago.  I’ve added the name of the company.  It’s named after my dad, brother and me (my last name is Welch).  I weathered the building a bit more as well.

Before.

After.

next weekend i'll have a benchwork update.

anyone in my area witha pickup that can help me get some 4x8 sheets of plywood and homasote?

How long will it be before they show us how to add DCC to a tree?

Rebuilt a clunker into this, and added another DCC installation to the repertoire...

And a little more Rockin' out...

And you just can't have enough E-8's under your belt.  This one is the old school plastic frame version from Life Like.

Gotta wrap up a few more by the end of the week before the next batch comes in...

Built some roads, but mostly have been playing with the JMRI Operations module to get it working how I want it. I am very impressed by it. No car cards for me! All live time manifests.

I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

I was going to declare this season as 'the year to get s**t done, but then I remembered how busy Christmas is and that  I may have an extended house guest after the new year.  So it's now the year to "try and get some **** done" :P.  I have resurrected four unfinished projects in hopes of completion.

CNW VO1000m

The main hurdles are making sure the pieces fit properly together, and I may have a problem with the transition between the SW hood and the VO hood.  I had a drawing that showed that the VO hood was raised in the middle to match the peak of the SW hood, but pictures are showing that the VO hood stayed flat and the peak just poked up higher.  The hardest thing left is the new handrail and stanchions.

CNW/MSTL SD-7

Really just need to decide which number I want to do #300 or #301.  The biggest difference are the front marker lights. One has the older angled lights, and the other, newer class lights like the GP30 etc.  I also need a couple Atlas parts from the SD20 as the M&StL units had the pipes on the side of the sil that came up from the tank area. I don't know why they had them while other roads didn't. I guessing it's some sort of cold weather thing.

The third project is my Kato NW-2 that I made into a phase-4. It just needs a coat of black and then print and apply the decals.

The fourth is one I've never talked about but has been sitting on about 80% done for the last year.  There's a lot of custom fitting and details from scratch so I have no idea how long it will take.  I think I can add some of the details even after painting and decalling so I may do that just to get it off the bench.

I took a break this week after a hectic two days of model trains last weekend.  Yesterday I tried out the new Amtrak run from Vancouver to Seattle:

Nice stuff guys.

I made some progress on the door for the first time in a while this month. ;D

First, I've started making some "signature" trees out of WS tree armatures and super tree bits.

Also, I have been working on replacing the bridge over the river.

I bought some ME turnout length ties and cut them down to bridge tie length.

Here they are, being constructed into the bridge deck.

Resting on the girders. The rails still have to be painted and glued in place. The girders need some weathering too.
