Been trying to see if any L&N cars are close ...

So far the closest I've found is this 15 panel:

I did some checking, and the Erie Lackawanna cars (built by Greenville Car Company) are rivited and the Bluford cars are welded (except for the two ribs mentioned in their ad).  You will have to decide if this is a deal breaker for you.  I would really like some EL cars and some painted out Conrail HE7A's too.  Thanks.

Hi Guys,

WM did have the 14-Panel cars in their 80000 series. The only difference was ribs on the WM cars did not have the slight taper at the very top and bottom. As far as I know, they were all red so the grays are thus far a question mark.

L&N inherited some of these cars from the C&EI split beginning with L&N 72775.

We will do them in EL down the road with the only difference being the rivets.

No, not really. Most of these stayed in NKP paint to the end. Besides, Athearn has done the N&W repaints to death.

Well, isn't this just great.....

Finally what appears to be a very nice 70 Tonner from a new manufacturer in a version that the WM had quite a few of, and my wallet is going to be hurtin' for certain!  20- hell I'll need about a hundred or so!

Somewhere I've got a shot of some of those offset sided cars in NKP still in service hauling clay in southwestern Illinois still in NKP paint back in the 90s.  Other than a flatcar or 2 they were the last cars in service still in NKP paint.

Congrats to the guys at Bluford.  Can I get a break if I drive down and pick them up at your place?

Only ten road numbers in Canadian Pacific and they owned over 3500 such cars..........easy to see why we Canadian get model railroad inferiority complex's..... ;D

I'll be in for at least 20; ten "as is" and 10 "road number modification candidates......"

Yeah, the Nickel Plate H&TS magazine used to track them once a year. I have those issues.  Are there any NKP fans who would like to see them in Wheeling & Lake Erie as well? It's not the most exciting paint scheme but would be vital for modelers of that region in the 40's and 50's.

I would be interested more in modern W&LE equipment, but not the old W&LE. Still the car would go with the Atlas Cab and I think LL did a W&LE Berkshire in N too.
