You might want to reconsider the hot tub idea and lay down a nice sheet of ice...that way the modules will slide right out! Plus you guys can put on your Blackhawk sweaters and pretend that you have just won the Cup. ;)

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Dave - Mike and I are still installing the hot tub in that thing - we'll have a build out thread for that as well!

Model railroaders sharing a hot tub?

I've gone to sleep with MUV+CH better thoughts! ;D

Sheesh Lee... way to take the topic sideways in a hurry...

And thanks, but the rest of us don't need to see your weekend boy toy escapades.

Now we really know what goes on at those "operating sessions" you're hosting.  ;D

Now I know the REAL reason there was a bed up there! ahahahahah

But back to the Mini-Modutrak, I don't know if I mentioned it, but really great article Mike.

I really LOVED that photo of the GPs with the gray sky background. I love stuff like that (in case you hadn't noticed...).

You guys really are killing it out there with that stuff, and you're absolutely right, it's NOT right for everyone, but is a great thing to do with a group of like-minded friends.

There's something else that deserves some kudos too: organization. Everyone gets credit for stellar modeling, but running a group (even a relatively low maintenance one) is not an easy job, and I just wanted to give you guys a shout out for that.

Yes, please, back to the article. It finally arrived in my local hobby shop, and the quality of the work and the photos are just stunning. I liked it so much I even showed the article to my wife! While she puts up with me, she really isn't that into models. She actually flipped through all the pages and gave you guys a big thumbs up. I really hope to make it to Trainfest this year to see this layout in person.

Best wishes, Dave

...I even showed the article to my wife!...

So funny. I showed the photos to my Dad. He grew up in West Bend, WI and always seems to mention the C&NW and the Milwaukee in his boyhood stories. It's ironic though, because he's always 'worried' about my MRRing habits, yet his little snippets about the RRs in West Bend and how he traveled to the West Coast on the Hiawatha directly contributed to my picking up the hobby. He really loved the cover shot. He was wowed by the realism, which is huge because he always picks apart other photos of N scale work by saying he could tell it was a model. Then, he noticed how it looked familiar and the fact that was a Milwaukee unit and it looked so realistically like Wisconsin made him all teary eyed. Kudos to Skibbe & MMT!

If you make it out, bring something to run! Might as well have fun while you're at it. :)
