I don't think we would establish a "no post zone" here... you need to participate to get the most out of what's offered.  But it definitely helps to know going in that this is Missouri, and you don't get far if you don't "Show Me"... (Not me specifically, but this is a highly demonstrative and visual group...)

You earn your stripes by posting your work and sharing your techniques.  Occasionally you have to do battle, but it's usually to defend your thesis or your technique, not over piddly stuff.  And when there is a battle, the participants generally come away with a better understanding of their own work rather than hurt feelings.  Been there, done that, and I'm a little better person for it.

You got it but I just wanted to chime in here to say once again, we are not a club. It really is a group of friends with very similair interests. In fact a lot of us have other interests besides model railroading and would still be friends without the trains. Marshall, Mike, Matt and myself are big hockey fans and regularly attend games together. Mike and I still play hockey and have even been on the ice together a few times.  Jamie and Mike are into cars. Vince and Rick are into bicycle riding. Etc, you get the idea. These are guys I could and would hang out with even if the subject of model trains never came up. I can't say the same about some of the Clubs I have been involved with and that's not to say I have anything against clubs. In any case, it works for us and I hope that it shows up in the layout.

 I hope to make it to Trainfest this year, in large part to see the MiNi-ModuTrak layout and their very cool module hauler...although it would look much better in orange and black.

All that I ask is that if such a place was started, especially here, while I understand that I couldn’t post in such a place, at least let us be able to go and look at what you guys are up to. 

As Jamie said, there really isn't that much exciting discussion going on, at least from the standpoint of modeling.  A lot of, "what if's" being discussed, build out discussions, and watch out for [name deleted to protect the guilty] when he's using the brad gun discussions, for the most part.  Or in my case, a lot of pestering questions asking if I'm building things correctly.  To which I credit Jamie's Franksville thread a ton, as it's a great reference source, and I think you'll find that the group posts lots of threads like his, when they feel they have a product worthy of posting about.

Bill, Mike, Matt G., and Jamie have always been around on multiple forums ready to share their knowledge, and I've always appreciated it.  Railwire is pretty new to me, as well, but I find it to be quite a bit more "serious" modeling focused than the other forums.  It's the wonderful thing about the this here interweb (Thanks Al Gore), there's always a forum out there for like minded people.

Hey some people are that nuts! We have a guy in our club that has a Mack Type 8 Tractor and 53' lowboy flat bed to carry his 3 Fairmont A6 speeders on... Oh and it made it long enough so I could fit mine on too...INSANE
